Baby Dress!

Baby clothes are my favourite.
I absolutely LOVE looking at all the baby girl dresses and shoes, and bathing suits OH MY GOSH...

I have been waiting for an excuse to sew some baby girl clothes, but up until now, I have only ever had little boys in my life, and I hate to say it, but boy clothes just aren't nearly as fun to sew... :P (I have 6 younger cousins that are boys, and a younger brother... too many boys!)

But a few weeks ago, my 10th cousin was born, and it was a GIRL!!!! <3 I was just a teeny weeny bit excited.

So I designed and made this dress for her. :)

I can't wait to see how it looks on her!

For the top of the dress I sewed approximately 12 lines of shirring, and serged the top raw edge. (I love my serger, it is so handy!)

I serged all the rest of the seams, and used a couple extra strips of fabric for the straps. Which I serged of course! Then I hand sewed on a few colourful buttons.

Here's a back view. I think it actually turned out pretty well for a quick afternoon project! :)
